We’ve achieved a remarkable victory for student rights at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. This is our very first victory ever! Our STAR Activist Carter Rachal, along with his dedicated Young Americans for Liberty chapter, has successfully overturned the school’s taser ban.

After signing on as a STAR Activist in January, Carter got to work executing the steps of the Freedom Method. He organized his chapter members to collect petition signatures multiple times in the first few weeks of the project, collecting over 450 signatures. As he was working, he contacted the campus administration, declaring his team’s intention to overturn ULL’s taser ban come hell or high water. Due to Carter’s tenacity as an activist and his reputation as an effective leader on the campus, the administration removed the ban on tasers and students now have a broader right to defend themselves.
